CHALLENGE 24 TEACHER ACADEMY

Overview

 
The Challenge 24 Teacher Academy is designed for Michigan FFA members who are interested in becoming an agriculture, food, and natural resources (AFNR) educator. During this hands-on experience at Michigan State University, you'll explore the teaching profession, connect with current educators and college faculty, and discover what it takes to become an AFNR teacher and FFA advisor. Students who complete the academy and meet program requirements may also be eligible for a scholarship to study AFNR Education at Michigan State University.

Requirements for All Applicants

Applicants must:
  1. Be a high school sophomore entering their junior year or a high school junior entering their senior year.
  2. Participate in the academy only once.
  3. Attend the Challenge 24 Academy on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing.

Scholarship Opportunity

Students who attend the Challenge 24 Academy and later enroll at Michigan State University in the Agricultural, Food, and Natural Resources Education (AFNRE) teaching program are eligible to receive a scholarship.
To receive the scholarship, participants must:
  1. Attend the Challenge 24 Academy.
  2. Be admitted to Michigan State University within three years of graduating from high school.
  3. Enroll in the Agricultural, Food, and Natural Resources Education (AFNRE) program with an emphasis on teaching.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:
  1. Completed Challenge 24 application
  2. Current official copy of transcript
  3. Wallet size or larger photograph of yourself (official dress preferred)
