Candidate Eligibility

To apply for Michigan FFA State Office, candidates must:
  1. Be an active Michigan FFA member in good standing.
  2. Be a high school senior who will graduate at the end of the current school year or a high school graduate who has sufficient remaining active FFA membership eligibility to serve.
  3. Have earned, or be eligible to receive, the State FFA Degree before beginning their year of service.
Chapter Candidate Limits
Each chapter may submit up to two candidates each year.
Chapters with more than 75 high school FFA members may submit three candidates to Phase One of the selection process. However, no more than two candidates from the same chapter may advance to Phase Two.

Application Requirements

To submit a complete State Officer application, candidates must:
  1. Complete the Michigan FFA State Officer Application in AET.
  2. Submit an advisor letter of recommendation.
  3. Review the State Officer Code of Conduct and Mandatory Dates. If you have a conflict with any required date, contact Michigan FFA State Staff before signing the Code of Conduct.
  4. Print the State Officer Code of Conduct and obtain the required signatures from the candidate, parent/guardian, and advisor. The State Executive Secretary will sign the document after it has been submitted.
  5. Upload a scanned copy of all pages of the completed and signed State Officer Code of Conduct to your AET application.
  6. Submit your completed application by the published deadline.
