STATE OFFICER NOMINATING COMMITTEE APPLICATION

Ready to serve on the Michigan FFA State Officer Nominating Committee? This page includes everything you need to complete your application and important resources.

Regional Representation

Priority for the three student positions rotates by region each year to ensure representation from across Michigan FFA.

Even Years (2028, 2030)Regions 2, 4, and 6
If a qualified applicant is not available from one of the designated regions, that position may be filled as an at-large position by a qualified applicant from another region.
Students from every region are encouraged to apply every year
While priority is given to the designated regions each year, applicants from any region will be considered for available at-large positions.

Nominating Committee Eligibility

To be eligible to serve on the Michigan FFA State Officer Nominating Committee, applicants must:
  1. Have earned the Chapter FFA Degree.
  2. Have participated in at least five FFA activities above the chapter level if enrolled in a four-year program, or at least three activities above the chapter level if enrolled in a two-year program.
  3. Have no conflict of interest with any State Officer candidate, such as being from the same chapter, serving on the same regional officer team, or being an immediate family member.
  4. Be available to fulfill the time commitment and attend all required dates listed in the application.
  5. Be willing to follow the Nominating Committee confidentiality policy by keeping all information, discussions, candidate and selection-process materials, and deliberations strictly confidential. This commitment begins upon receipt of application or interview materials and continues indefinitely after the State Convention.
Future State Officer Eligibility
Serving on the State Officer Nominating Committee does not affect future State Officer eligibility.
Students who serve on the committee remain eligible to apply for a Michigan FFA State Officer position in future years.

Application Requirements

To submit a complete Nominating Committee application, applicants must:
  1. Complete the State Officer Nominating Committee Application.
  2. Review and agree to the Confidentiality Statement included in the application.
  3. Review and commit to the Required Dates and Time Commitment outlined in the application.
  4. Declare within the application that, to the best of your knowledge, you have no conflicts of interest with any State Officer candidate.
  5. Obtain the required signatures from the applicant, parent/guardian, and advisor.
  6. Submit the completed application by the published deadline.
