The Michigan FFA Alumni and Friends was established in 1975 to support and promote FFA, FFA activities, and agricultural education at local, state, and national levels. Its mission is centered on three priorities: supporting FFA students, supporting FFA advisors, and sharing the FFA story. The organization provides resources, guidance, and volunteer support to help FFA chapters thrive and ensure leadership and career development opportunities for students.
Mission and Purpose
- Support FFA — Strengthen FFA chapters by providing volunteers, resources, mentoring, and advocacy.
- Promote agriscience education — Advance agricultural literacy and hands-on learning in Michigan schools.
- Connect former members — Maintain a lifelong tie to FFA, encouraging alumni to stay involved in meaningful ways.
- Grow agricultural knowledge — Increase public understanding of agriculture and support education in the agricultural industry.
- Collaborate with partners — Work with the Michigan FFA Association, Michigan FFA Foundation, agriscience educators, and National FFA Alumni to build unified support for students.
Michigan FFA Alumni & Friends Council Members
The Michigan FFA Alumni and Friends is made up of a President, Vice President and Secretary, plus six regional Vice Presidents, one at-large member and a representative from the Past State FFA Officers Alumni. The Council also includes several ex-officio members representing the Michigan FFA Association, Michigan FFA Foundation, Michigan Association of Agriscience Educators and Michigan Horticulture Teachers Association.
