CONFERENCE GENERAL RESOURCES
FIND THE RESOURCES YOU NEED
Many Michigan FFA conferences share common expectations and required forms. Use the resources below as a starting point, and be sure to review the information specific to the conference you plan to attend.
MEMBERSHIP, WAIVERS, & AET
Before participating in any Michigan FFA conference, contest, application, or other state-level activity, students and advisors must complete a few important requirements. Use the resources below to verify eligibility, complete required forms, and prepare participants for state events.
Membership Eligibility
Students must be listed on their chapter’s official membership roster by the published state membership deadline to participate in Michigan FFA-sponsored conferences, contests, applications, and other state activities.
Complete the AET Waiver
Every participant attending a Michigan FFA state event must complete the annual AET Waiver and Code of Conduct before participating. Advisors can also verify that waivers have been completed for their chapter.
Add Participants in AET
Advisors must add participating students to the appropriate AET event calendar. This allows the Michigan FFA Office to verify membership and confirm completion of the required AET Waiver and Code of Conduct before the event.
Annual Waiver Reminder
The AET Waiver and Code of Conduct must be completed once each membership year. A waiver completed during a previous membership year does not carry forward.
ACCOMMODATION REQUESTS
Michigan FFA is committed to creating accessible experiences for all participants. If a student needs accommodations to fully participate in a Michigan FFA State Conference, advisors should submit the appropriate Accommodation Request Form when registering for the conference. Submitting requests early allows our team to coordinate and provide appropriate accommodations whenever possible.
State Conferences
Use this form to request accommodations for Michigan FFA State Conferences.
Deadline: Please refer to the Calendar of Events for accommodation request deadlines.
Translation Requests
Requests requiring conference materials or accommodations in a language other than English must be submitted at least 30 days before the conference to allow sufficient time for preparation and coordination.
ADDITIONAL CONFERENCE POLICIES
Review additional policies and resources that support participation in Michigan FFA State Conferences.
Medical Release Form
Each chapter is responsible for ensuring appropriate medical information and emergency contact information is available for all students attending Michigan FFA conferences and events.
Chapters should follow their school or district policies regarding medical release forms and student health information. If your school or district does not provide a required form, Michigan FFA has a Medical Release Form available for chapters to use.
Medical information should be maintained by the advisor attending the event and be readily available if needed.
Photo Release Policy
Registering for or attending any Michigan FFA sanctioned event provides consent for photographs and video to be used in Michigan FFA media, including but not limited to websites, press releases, social media platforms, and other promotional materials. Registering students or adults for a Michigan FFA event also implies that the student's legal guardian has been notified of and approves this photo release policy.
